This event aims to accelerate innovation, strengthen cooperation and support the development of NATO’s future CBRN defence capabilities by connecting new technologies with CBRN experts, end-users, procurement officials, and representatives from NATO nations and selected NATO partner nations. It offers a unique opportunity for innovators to present solutions directly to military end-users and capability developers.
BACKGROUND / WHY IT MATTERS
Emerging threats, evolving battlefield requirements, and the rapid development of emerging and disruptive technologies are reshaping CBRN defence and changing how capabilities must be developed, adapted, and adopted. While these technologies may create additional challenges, they also offer significant opportunities to enhance preparedness, resilience, and operational effectiveness.
To remain operationally ready and strategically resilient, NATO and its partners must continue to modernise, adapt, and strengthen their CBRN defence capabilities. The CBRN Defence Technology & Innovation Forum 2026 responds to this need by creating a focused international platform where technological innovation meets operational reality.
Organized by the Joint CBRN Defence Centre of Excellence, in cooperation with NATO DIANA and the Future Forces Exhibition & Forum 2026, the Forum will take place in Prague, Czech Republic, on 22–23 October 2026, within the framework of Future Forces Exhibition & Forum 2026.
By connecting promising next-generation technologies with CBRN experts, operational practitioners, decision-makers, innovators, and other relevant stakeholders from NATO Allies and selected partner nations, the Forum aims to accelerate innovation, strengthen cooperation, and support the development and adoption of future CBRN defence capabilities.

FORUM CONCEPT
The CBRN Defence Technology & Innovation Forum 2026 is designed to connect operational experience, capability needs, and technological innovation through a combination of expert insights, technology presentations, professional discussions, networking opportunities, and a dedicated CBRN Defence Workshop.
The Forum will provide expert insigh into how the operational requirements of modern warfare, together with emerging and disruptive technologies, are reshaping the CBRN defence activities and therefore driving the need for new technological response.
A key element of the programme will be the CBRN Defence Workshop focused on identifying priority capability needs and innovation areas for future research and development. Its outcomes are intended to support the foundation for the first DIANA – CBRN Defence Dynamic Challenge aimed at identifying promising technologies and supporting their future integration into CBRN defence capabilities.
The programme will also feature technology presentations by 18 selected innovators, showcasing next-generation technologies from the CBRN defence and medical fields. These contributions will alternate with expert presentations and networking sessions reating opportunities for direct exchange between innovators, experts, end-users, and decision-makers.
