Aerospace Designs began as an engineering company primarily specializing in the design and manufacture of safety automation systems aimed at achieving zero-injury workplaces.

In 1997, Advanced Aerospace Designs turned its attention toward air sports and the goal of developing a skydiving-specific security device by combining our safety expertise with those of industry-leading gear manufacturers, experienced riggers, and professional skydivers.

Addressing the industry's demand for a single unit that does it all, a multi-mode AAD with user-accessible jump data, no scheduled maintenance, with an extended usable lifespan, the Vigil AAD was born and in 1999 our first patent was granted.
